No. Alma Acupuncture is a cash-based practice. We believe this allows us to spend more time with each patient and provide individualized care. We are happy to provide a superbill that you can submit for possible reimbursement. We do accept HSA/FSA cards.

Your initial session lasts about 60 minutes. We will spend time discussing your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. You’ll receive an acupuncture treatment during your first visit, and we’ll discuss recommendations for follow up care.

Every person is different. Some people notice changes after their first visit, while others benefit from a series of sessions. Your acupuncturist will recommend a treatment plan based on your condition, health goals, and how long you’ve been experiencing symptoms.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing whenever possible. Many acupuncture points are located on the arms and legs, so clothing that can easily roll up is helpful. If needed, we will provide draping to ensure you’re comfortable throughout your session.

Yes. When performed by a licensed acupuncturist, acupuncture is considered very safe. We use only sterile, single-use disposable needles and follow strict safety and cleanliness protocols.

Yes, Acupuncture is safe and effective way to support a healthy pregnancy. We commonly treat nausea, back and pelvic pain, fatigue, stress, headaches, sleep concerns, breech positioning, labor preparation, and postpartum recovery.
